Top 5 Tuesday: Warm Weather Shoes

Just Peachy

The topic for this weeks Top 5 is warm weather shoes. As the weather has warmed up I have had to put away my riding boots and break out the sandals. My favorite shoes for warme weather are ...

  • Black Ballet Flats. Pretty much all year round I live in ballet flats and spring/ summer is no exception. I love the ones from H & M because they are cute and cheap.

  • Leather Sandals. Cute strappy sandals are a summer must for me. They are perfect for running errands and showing off a cute pedicure.
source

  • Wedges. I got a pair of wedges for my graduation last year and they have become my go to shoes when I need to be dressier during the warmer months. I don't wear heels/ wedges very often (tall girl in a short family) so it is a special treat when I get to wear them.

  • Canvas Sneakers. The warm weather means more time exploring outside and with being outside comes tons of walking making a pair of comfortable sneakers a must have. They are perfect for long walks with my pups and trips to the city with my sisters.
source

  • Flip Flops. A pair of rubber flip flops are a requirement for the beach. As there is nothing worse than having sand in your shoes a week later. Living minutes from a beach (California living) means that as soon as the weather warms up we start taking the digs to the beach and out come the flip flops. Every year I get a new pair because I always manage to lose one during the winter and this pair from Old Navy is super cute with the anchor details.

Top 5 Tuesday: Netflix Binge TV Shows

Just Peachy

The topic for Top % tuesday this week is Netflix Binge shows. This is the perfect topic because, I watch most of my TV on Netflix, Amazon Prime, or Hulu (oh the joys of life without cable). Therefore I have curated quite a list of Netflix shows. My current favorites are ...

  • Bones. I LOVE Bones. I have seen every episode at least 3 times and still love them. It is a perfect show to watch a lot of in one sitting and to watch just one as a break. Since I know it pretty well I sometimes put it on while working on other stuff for background noise.

  • Supernatural. My current Netflix show is Supernatural. The show centers on Sam and Dean, brothers who are demon hunters. I generally don't like scary paranormal movies but this show is a great mix of scary, episode plot lines, and an overarching mystery that unfolds throughout the seasons. I have only finished the first two seasons and I am already hooked.

  • Dance Academy. This show is about students who study dance (mainly ballet) at the national academy in Sydney (the show is filmed for Australian TV). I am a sucker for anything concerning dance. With only 3 series/seasons it is a great show to binge on over a long weekend.

  • Heartland. Heartland is another non-american TV show. It is about life on Heartland horse ranch and Amy, a young horse whisperer. I was told about this show when a Canadian blog I read mentioned it and have been hooked ever since. Much like dancing I love anything about horses, making this show perfect. There are currently 4 seasons on Netflix, though the show is still on in Canada (up to 7 season) so there are plenty more coming to Netflix in the future.

  • Baby Daddy. I watched the first few episodes of Baby Daddy when it first came out on ABC Family but the life got in the way. I picked up the show again on Netflix while looking for a light comedy and it hit the spot perfectly. The cast is great including Tahj Mowey (from smart guy), and Melissa Peterman (from Reba), and the beautiful Danny Weeler.
Bonus:
For Amazon Prime I love Veronica Mars and Awkward. They are two great high school dramas.

Top 5 Tuesday: Top iPhone Apps

This week I am linking up for Top 5 Tuesday, which is hosted my Rachel of Just Peachy. My favorite iPhone apps are ...

Just Peachy

I use Tweetcaster as my twitter app. I love that It allows you to see instagram photos in the app and that I can save intersting link to Pocket easily.

I am currently obsessed with Candy Crush. I played ocasionally in college when i was bored but I really started playing this winter and am currently on level 116.

I love playing sudoku on my phone. I have had a sudoku app longer than I have had my iPhone and it is perfect for when you have a few minutes to play a game. I love using it on mass transit or in a waiting room where you don't have wifi. Currently I have sudoku :), but I have used other apps in the past (I ran out of levels on other apps).

This app simulates the sound of working in coffee shop. Studies have shown that the noise of a coffee shop is condusive to creativity. This app is great when I can't get to a coffee shop or want to stay home with my dogs but still need to be productive. It allows you to blend the sound with your music or pandora and has several different coffee shop settings (my favorite is University Undertones).

I use overdrive to listen to audiobook that I digitally check out from the library and I use audible to listen to audiobook from audible. I enjoy listening to audio book when I am doing mindless tasks, such as walking my dogs, riding mass transit, making dinner or knitting. Both apps have a great sleep timer that will pause the book after a set amount of time. Ensuring that you don't lose your spot if you drift off while listening to your book.

What are your favorite apps?

Top 5 Tuesday: Favorite Romantic Movies

This week rather than a Tuesday Tunes post I am rejoining the Top 5 Tuesday link-up hosted by Rachel of Just Peachy. I loved this series and am excited for its return this week.

Just Peachy

A walk to remember
This is one of the first romantic movies I remember loving. It started my love for Nicholas Sparks novels and Shane West.

Pride & Prejudice
I love all the different adaptations of this novel. though I think my favorite is the feature length film. It captures the essence of the film without getting lost in the period details and it has a great cast. While most women love Darcy I have always thought the more romantic story was that of Jane and Mr. Bingley.

27 dresses
This is the perfect lighthearted romantic comedy. I love most of Katherine Hiegl's movies but this has to be my favorite. I tend to be a sucker for romantic comedies that have to do with weddings and this is no exception.

Valentines Day
I love movies with a bunch of separate story lines that are still connected. I especially love how many well known actors are in this movies (besides T Swift she was not good in this movie). I especially love the stories with Julia Roberts and Bradley Cooper.

Sex and the City
I never really watched the show (because it was a little inappropriate for my age group when it came). But I love watching this movie. I like how the stories make sense without needing to know the whole backstory. It also includes some great fashion and a makeover scene.
