Favorite Season: Fall

What's your favorite season and why?

Fall is my favorite season. The main reasons I love fall are because my birthday is in November and Thanksgiving. My birthday has always been a pretty low key affair but I love getting to spend time with my family and friends to celebrate another year past. It also makes the perfect excuse for a nice dinner out and pumpkin pie instead of birthday cake.

I have never been a big friend of Halloween, especially as I grew up. I never liked the stress of having to come up with a costume idea and then find the time to get the pieces to create it. Also my frugal side hated the idea of getting an outfit that I could only wear for one day.

Some of my favorite things about fall are ...

- The Clothes. As a knitter I am a big fan of the return of knits, such as hats, scarves, cardigans, and sweaters. I am also a fan of all the layers. It is the perfect season to wear jeans but they aren't yet boring and there is still the ability to wear dresses and skirts with tights.

- New TV Shows. I am a major TV junkie and the fall always means the release of new TV shows and the return of old favorites. What shows are you loving forward too?

- Colder Weather. Cold water has always been my preferred temperature. While it doesn't always get to cold in NorCal in the fall. The temperature defiantly gets lower in october after the indian summer. With the cold comes warm beverages and cozying up under blankets at night.

- Sports. I played field hockey though out high school. And fall was the season we played. Because of this and a few seasons of soccer as a child fall has always been about staying late for practice and running in the cool air. As I grew up I got really interested in major league sports. Weather it is the baseball playoffs (GO Giants and A's) or the start of football season the fall is always filled with team to cheer on and games to attend.

- The Food. Another thing I love about autumn is the food. Carmel apples, turkey, pumpkin everything, candy oh my. There are so many foods that I associate with fall. Some of my favorites are those you eat at thanksgiving. Especially stuffing, turkey, brown and serve rolls and cranberry sauce. Fall is also the season for pumpkin flavored everything. From the pumpkin candle burning to pumpkin spice lattes and pumpkin pie. For me fall is all about the pumpkin flavored items.

Prized Possession

Day 2: Tell us about your most prized possession and the history behind it.

My most prized possession is my iPhone 5. It was my first big purchase that I made on my own. I bought it for myself as a 21st birthday gift. I loved the sense of independence I had for being able to buy it myself without any help from family. It is also where I keep most of my life and is with me 24/7. I am a big music lover and love having my music and pandora with me at all time without also caring around my iPod. It also connects me to social media and all of the fabulous people I have meet on the internet.

P.S. While writing this post I released I don't have any pictures of my phone since I use it for all my pictures.

A Reintroduction

I have lost a bit of my blogging mojo this summer and got distracted with other things, However fall always feels like a new beginning. I am definitely an all or nothing kind of person so what better way to restart blogging than by participating in Blog Everyday in May hosted by Whitney of Love Letters & Lists.
Today's prompt for "Blog Everyday in September" is to reintroduce myself to my readers.

Hi, I'm Zoe.

I'm 22 years old. I live in the San Francisco Bay Area. I have lived here pretty much my whole life. I did move to the Pacific Northwest for college but came back after I graduated. I love living near family. They are so important to me and I love getting to see them everyday. I have two sisters (one older and one younger) and they are my best friends.

My family has a total of 6 (yes 6) dogs. Two are my older sisters, though they are always going over the their grannie's house. Their names are Timmy Thomas and Andrew. My mom has three dogs they have been in the family for a long time and have definite personalities. First there is Daphne, who is the family dog and full of energy. Next is Daisy Mae she is Daphne's sister and like my mom's fourth child. Finally there is Sophie she is chill and loves spending the day in her dog bed. The last dog belong to me and my sister. Though she lives with my mom she is definitely my fur baby and I love getting to spoil her with new toys and long walks. All of our dogs (besides Willie) are rescued from the Milo Foundation.

In addition to this blog I also created a book review blog called, Coffee Cups and Books. I started it this summer when my sister was home from school and I have loved getting to create a new blog and share my love for books. Though it has caused me to neglect this space (writing and admin for 2 blogs is a lot of work.

When I'm not writing or reading, you can find me watching Netflix with a knitting project or cross-stitch in my lap. I love creating thing with my hands and yarn is my medium of choice. Because of my love of knitting and need for a job I started my Etsy shop, Cozy Comforts last winter (new items coming soon).
